About Allegro

Richard and Barbara

Allegro Music is run by a husband and wife team with over 50 years’ experience between them.

Richard Priest opened Allegro Music in the city centre of Birmingham in 1984, following the completion of his vocal studies at the Birmingham Conservatoire. Barbara, a trained music librarian, joined him in 1988 and together they have developed Allegro Music into one of the country’s leading classical music suppliers.

It was the growth of the mail-order business and their mutual love of the countryside that led to the business being moved to the Worcestershire/Herefordshire border in 2006.They now concentrate on bringing the best of music mail- order worldwide. Stock items are despatched immediately. Non-stock items are ordered from the major publishers each week and we try to deliver as quickly as possible.

Allegro Music supplies sheet music for the majority of classical instruments with a wide selection of titles kept in stock, including material for the ABRSM and Trinity College examinations.

In addition, Allegro Music pays particular attention to the field of organ and choral music and, as well as holding extensive stocks of organ music, we run an archive service for out-of-print organ music for Oxford University Press, Peters Edition and Schott & Co Ltd. Allegro Music also sell CDs and DVDs from Regent Records, Priory Records and JAV Recordings.

Allegro Music is also the UK agency for the Incorporated Association of Organists, selling the IAO's merchandise and supporting their promotions and events.
