Severn Suite The Severn Suite Op.87 was composed as a test piece for the annual Crystal Palace Brass Band Festival and first performed in September 1930. Elgar provided only a short, skeletal score of the work, leaving it to Henry Geehl to arrange the full version for brass band. In 1932 Elgar scored the work for orchestra and it is this transcription by Jeremy Cull is based on this 1932 version.
